Michelle Williams and Katie Sowrey, Interiors Consultants, pinkgreen

Why did you set up pinkgreen?
We met whilst training as Interior Designers at Chelsea College of Art. Having worked together on numerous projects together we decided to create a company which offered clients access to our combined experience of fashion and interiors. We offer consultancy for interiors and space planning solutions as well as personal shoppers who can help fully kitting out a rental property, accessorising a new home or sourcing a specific item.

Who uses your service?
Professionals with high income whose home and lifestyle is of a great importance to them but have limited time to spend sourcing and perfecting their ideal environment.

What’s a typical day with a client?
As pinkgreen’s services are bespoke to each particular client our days vary hugely. If we were doing an Interiors Personal Shop or taking an Interior Design Brief, we start by having a consultation within their home to discuss the client’s likes and dislike’s, lifestyle and what they are hoping to achieve. With this valuable insight and inspiration pinkgreen carry out the design, sourcing and management of all the work required.

What sort of things are you asked to look for?
It seems there is no end to the diverse items we’re asked to source, and we do like the challenge. We have been asked to source specific French patisserie baking trays from and to replicate 1940’s fabrics. Recently a few clients have been keen to find innovative recycling containers for the kitchen.

Are there particular ‘looks’ that are currently in demand?
Mixing modern and vintage clean lines to create a pure and simple aesthetic.
Creating a distinctive mixture of traditional detailing with modern finishes.
Wallpaper and pattern are still very much in demand as people are becoming more experimental with colour in their homes.
